Angels sitting Trout, other regulars vs. Mariners after clinching AL West title

Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia is electing to rest most of his starters for Thursday's contest with the Seattle Mariners after his team clinched the American League West title on Wednesday night.

Notable omissions from the lineup include Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, Howie Kendrick and Jered Weaver, among others.

The Mariners won't complain about the weakened Angels lineup and will counter with staff ace Felix Hernandez as they continue to hunt the Oakland Athletics for the final wild-card spot.
