1979 - George Brett reaches the 20/20/20 milestone

Kansas City Royals third baseman George Brett hits his 20th triple of the season in a blowout win over the California Angels.

In the process he becomes the sixth player in history to collect 20 doubles, 20 triples and 20 home runs in the same year. He's the first player to do it since Willie Mays in 1957, and finishes with totals of 42, 20, and 23.

2004 - Bonds hits 700th homer

Barry Bonds launches a slider from San Diego Padres starter Jake Peavy into the stands for his 700th career home run.

The historic shot sets off fireworks and unveils a giant banner featuring Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron, the only other players to reach the 700 home run plateau.

2011 - The Sandman ties Hoffman's save mark

The New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-6, and, like clockwork, Mariano Rivera records the save.

It is the 602nd career save of Rivera's career, tying Trevor Hoffman for the major league record. Rivera would play another two seasons, finishing his career with 652 saves and cementing his place as the greatest relief pitcher in baseball history.
