Red Sox slugger David Ortiz rejoins club in Pittsburgh

Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz is back with the team after leaving Sunday's series finale in Kansas City due to a personal matter.

Ortiz is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Pittsburgh Pirates, but will be available off the bench. He is expected to start Thursday at first base.

Considering the Red Sox won't have the designated hitter this week in Pittsburgh, it stands to reason the team is giving Ortiz more rest after he missed another game last week with a sore foot. Mike Napoli will start at first base.
