Giants' Pagan scratched from lineup Monday with back stiffness

Kelley L Cox / USA TODAY Sports

A late change will leave the San Francisco Giants without outfielder Angel Pagan in the lineup Monday as the team opens a three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Pagan missed 45 games this season with a bulging disk in his lower back before being activated from the disabled list on Aug. 7. The 33-year-old was also scratched from the lineup in early September after feeling tightness in his back but missed only one game.

In 95 games this season, Pagan is hitting .302/.342/.391 with 21 doubles and 27 RBI.
