Playoff Picture: Orioles slash magic number to 3 with come-from-behind win over Yankees

Here's a look at how Sunday's slate affected the playoff picture in the majors:

American League

• Kelly Johnson delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth inning Sunday night to sink the Yankees and lower Baltimore's magic number to three.

• The Tigers won their third straight with a victory over the Indians, while the Royals suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Red Sox via a Daniel Nava grand slam.

• The Astros snapped the AL West-leading Angels' 10-game winning streak thanks to a strong outing from Dallas Keuchel, who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning until Mike Trout spoiled it. Los Angeles's magic number is four heading into a huge four-game set with the Mariners.

• No movement in the AL wild card standings Sunday, but the Athletics bolstered their position with a win over the Mariners, while the Blue Jays, Yankees and Indians fell further off the pace with losses.

National League

• The Nationals inched closer to clinching their second National League East title in three years by shutting out the Mets, while the Braves suffered a third consecutive loss to help reduce Washington's magic number to four. The two rivals square off for three games beginning Monday.

• All three contenders in the NL Central walked away with victories Sunday, leaving the standings unchanged. The Brewers have a massive week coming up, with series against the Cardinals and Pirates on tap.

• The Dodgers took two of three from the Giants over the weekend thanks to Clayton Kershaw's dominant outing Sunday to pick up his league-leading 19th win of the season.

• No movement in the NL wild card but the Pirates and Brewers gained ground on the Giants with wins, while the Braves slipped to four games back with a loss to the Rangers.
