Tampa Bay Rays (71-78) at Toronto Blue Jays (77-70), 1:07 p.m. (ET)

(Sports Network) - Mark Buehrle tries to stay perfect on the year agaainst the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday when the Toronto Blue Jays play the rubber match against them at Rogers Centre.

Buehrle is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in five starts against the Rays this season.

He won his last start on Tuesday against Chicago, as the held the Cubs to a pair of runs and 10 hits in seven innings to improve to 12-9, while lowering his ERA to 3.31.

Toronto had originially planned to go with impressive rookie Marcus Stroman in the finale, but instead will give him an extra day of rest. He will now start Monday's opener in Baltimore.

"We've been trying to do that all year," Toronto manager John Gibbons said before Friday's game. "And Buehrle's been good against Tampa too. It makes sense."

Tampa will counter with righty Chris Archer, who is 9-8 with a 3.63 ERA. Archer beat the New York Yankees on Tuesday, as he held them to a three runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Archer has faced the Blue Jays eight times and is 2-1 against them with a 3.69 ERA.

Toronto kept its faint playoff hopes alive on Saturday, as Adam Lind snapped a seventh-inning tie with a two-run homer and Edwin Encarnacion followed with a solo blast to help the Blue Jays to a 6-3 victory.

Lind finished with three runs batted in for the Blue Jays, who bounced back from Friday's 1-0 loss in the series opener and won for the fifth time in their last six games.

The Blue Jays are four games back of the second wild card in the AL.

R.A. Dickey (13-12) pitched seven strong innings to win his fourth straight decision. He allowed three runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Evan Longoria homered and drove in two runs for Tampa Bay, which has lost three of its last four.
