Nick Franklin will reportedly get a chance to make an impression at the major-league level over the final two weeks of the season, as the Tampa Bay Rays are set to promote the 23-year-old infielder from Triple-A Durham, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Acquired from the Seattle Mariners in July as part of a three-team deal that sent David Price to the Detroit Tigers, Franklin spent the majority of the season in Triple-A, hitting .272/.366/.412 with 11 home runs in 102 games between the Pacific Coast and International Leagues.

Franklin also appeared in 17 games for the Mariners this season, but managed a measly .128/.192/.170 line with one extra-base hit and 21 strikeouts in 52 plate appearances.

A first-round pick in 2009, Franklin spent most of last season as Seattle's primary second baseman, hitting .225/.303/.382 with 12 home runs and 20 doubles in 102 contests.
