Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton became the first player in the majors to collect 100 runs batted in this season, reaching the illustrious plateau in a decidedly fitting manner Tuesday night against the New York Mets.

Stanton, incidentally, also leads the National League with 35 home runs while his 5.5 wins above replacement trail only Mike Trout, Alex Gordon, Josh Donaldson and Jonathan Lucroy for the major-league lead entering Tuesday night.
