Report: Blue Jays to promote top prospects, including Daniel Norris and Dalton Pompey

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Blue Jays are fast-tracking the future, reportedly calling up top organization prospects Daniel Norris and Dalton Pompey to the expanded 40-man roster.

Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reported the expected transactions Monday night, which have yet to be announced by the club.

Several of the players announced their promotion via Twitter:

The promotions of Norris, Pompey, Graveman and Nolin are particularly noteworthy given the foursome all appeared in A-ball to start the season.

Pompey, Norris and Graveman all enjoyed productive stints in Triple-A. Graveman, a lefty, pitched to a 1.88 ERA in six starts for the Bisons, while fellow southpaw Norris struck out 38 hitters in 22 innings of work.

The 21-year-old Pompey, a speedy switch-hitting outfielder, hit .319/.360/.383 over 50 Triple-A plate appearances, stealing a combined 43 bases in 112 games across three levels this season.
