The Arizona Diamondbacks traded Gerardo Parra to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor league outfielder Mitch Haniger and left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda.

Haniger, 23, is hitting .255/.316/.416 in 271 plate appearances this season. He's listed as No. 8 on the Brewers' Top 10 prospect list via MLB.com.

The 27-year-old Parra is hitting .259/.305/.362 in 2014, and he'll bring a two-time Gold Glove award-winning arm to the Milwaukee outfield.

To clear room on the roster, the Brewers optioned outfielder Logan Schafer to Triple-A Nashville.
