The Minnesota Twins should have starter Phil Hughes on the mound for his next scheduled start.

Hughes left the Twins' contest Thursday against the Chicago White Sox in the fourth inning when designated hitter Adam Dunn smoked a line-drive off Hughes' shin. After the game, Hughes was diagnosed with a contusion, but X-rays revealed no breaks.

Hughes leads the Twins in innings pitched this season, having tossed 131.2 to date. He boasts an ERA of 4.10 and a FIP of 2.71 while striking out 7.72 batters per nine innings.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Phil Hughes suffered an apparent leg/ankle injury in the fourth inning of Thursday's contest with the Chicago White Sox.

Hughes took an Adam Dunn comebacker off his right ankle/shin and left under his own power with the aid of the team trainer.

Samuel Deduno is on in relief with the Twins trailing 1-0.

The team should update Hughes' stats after the game.
