Twins' Hughes day-to-day with right shin contusion

The injury sustained by Minnesota Twins right-hander Phil Hughes on Thursday night does not appear to be serious.

Hughes was forced to exit in the fourth inning after taking an Adam Dunn comebacker off his right leg, but received favorable X-ray results.
Phil Hughes had x-rays taken on his right shin but they came back negative. Just a bruise. Gardenhire hopeful Hughes will make next start.

His next scheduled start is Wednesday in Kansas City.
