Orioles acquire Jimmy Paredes from Royals

The Baltimore Orioles bolstered their minor-league depth on Thursday afternoon, acquiring Jimmy Paredes from  the Kansas City Royals and promptly optioning the versatile 25-year-old to Triple-A Norfolk.

Paredes appeared in just nine games for the Royals this season, spending the majority of the campaign at Triple-A Omaha, where he hit .305/.332/.457 with 27 extra-base hits and 17 stolen bases through 65 games.
