David Price and Rays sit in stands with Cardinals fans

While fans and reporters have kept their eyes fixated on David Price over the last month in an attempt to figure out his possible trade destination, Price himself is doing what he can to sit back and enjoy himself.

On Sunday, Price and about 10 of his Tampa Bay Rays teammates walked into Busch Stadium in St. Louis to sit in the stands and catch the end of the Cardinals game against the Dodgers.

A few fans looked into the arrival as a possible trade precursor, and others used the opportunity to let Price know how welcome he would be if he chose to stay.

"They were awesome," Price told the Tampa Bay Times. "They let us enjoy ourselves. They let us sit there. It was really cool. It was everything we had hoped for. … The people here are extremely nice."

Despite the new view, Price said to reporters that he would be surprised to be moved now that the Rays find themselves in the mix in the AL East.

"It doesn't really have to do with everything that we're doing," Price said. "I know our front-office guys are watching what's going on with the teams that are in front of us, especially Baltimore. They're on a very tough West Coast trip right now … and I think it has quite a bit to do with what we do."
