The Seattle Mariners did their best Officer Barbrady on Sunday, telling everyone to move along, there was nothing to see here with second baseman Robinson Cano requiring a day off due to a tight hamstring.

Lo and behold, Cano is back in the lineup on Monday against the New York Mets, batting third and manning the keystone.

Of course, that may not allay concerns for Mariners fans, as Cano is said to have been dealing with hamstring tightness all season. It hasn't shown in his .335/.394/.459 batting line, but you'd be forgiven for worrying it could turn into a more serious injury at a later juncture.

The Mariners need a peak Cano right now, as they're fighting off a large group of teams chasing their wild card position. At 52-46, Seattle has a lead of two games or fewer on three different teams, with another tier of teams a few games behind that. It's going to be a battle down the stretch, and they'll need their highest paid player in the lineup daily.
