Alex Wood: Sent Down Tuesday

Wood was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Analysis:

Jordan Walden (hamstring) was activated from the 15-day DL, and Wood was bumped in the subsequent move. Wood struggled after his move to the bullpen, posting a 4.70 ERA in 11 appearances, and while the Braves haven't said what the plan for Wood is exactly, the lefty figures to get stretched back out in the minors and return to the major league rotation eventually.
