Escobar went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Sunday's victory over the Mariners.
Analysis:
Escobar won't hit many home runs over the course of a season, but he certainly made this one count, parking a second-inning long ball off Seattle's Roenis Elias. The 27-year-old has been a surprisingly reliable source of offense for the Royals this year, a team that has often struggled to score runs. Escobar is fourth on the team in both average (.276) and RBI (15), doing it all while hitting ninth in the order for the majority of games. He's currently boasting a .331 OBP, and the last time he sustained a number like this over an entire season, he was able to rack up 35 steals.
