Axford may seek a late-inning role but won't necessarily be able to find one. He was a solid closer for the Brewers in 2010 and 2011, before falling apart in 2012. He did pitch well for the Cardinals (1.74 ERA over 10.1) towards the end of 2013, after joining the team in a late-season trade.
