Beltre lands on DL with injured hamstring
The Texas Rangers can't catch a break.
Texas placed third baseman Adrian Beltre onto the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain, according to Rangers executive vice president of communications John Blake.
The 39-year-old suffered the injury on Tuesday while running down the first-base line in the eighth inning against the Oakland Athletics.
Beltre joins a growing list of injured Rangers on the DL, including Elvis Andrus, Rougned Odor, and Tim Lincecum.
Before the injury, Beltre was off to a fine start, hitting .310/.366/.437 with eight doubles and eight runs driven in during 101 plate appearances.
In corresponding moves, the Rangers recalled Ryan Rua from Triple-A Round Rock, activated Doug Fister from the 10-day DL, and optioned Matt Bush to the minors.
