New York Yankees rookie outfielder Aaron Judge will be given a couple days off in an attempt to "refresh him and get him going", manager Joe Girardi said Monday, according to YES Network's Jack Curry.

Though stretches like this are common, especially for rookies, the Yankees have asked Judge if a shoulder injury is the driving force behind his slump. The slugger has continually denied that, leading Girardi to compare Judge's toughness to one of Derek Jeter.

From early April to the end of June, the 25-year-old performed to a .326/.449/.689 slash line with 27 home runs and 62 RBIs. In his past 24 games, though, he's hit only .186/.346/.337 with 39 strikeouts.

On the season, Judge still leads the American League with 37 home runs and 96 walks, but also leads the league in strikeouts with 174 to date.
