Goins leaves game after Rays' Robertson steps on him

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ryan Goins was left a little worse for wear on Wednesday after the second baseman was forced to leave the game after being stepped on by Tampa Bay Rays' Daniel Robertson.

After hitting an RBI single, Goins attempted to dive into second base on a fielder's choice, but was the victim of Robertson's cleat landing directly on his left arm.

Goins was in obvious pain as his arm quickly swelled up. He would walk off the field with trainers and was replaced by Rob Refsnyder.

The 29-year-old Goins is hitting 218./271/.333 with five home runs and 46 RBIs this season.
