Kershaw allows 4 homers for 1st time in 10-year career

So far this season, Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw has been serving up home runs like never before, and the trend continued Monday.

Kershaw surrendered four home runs for the first time in his illustrious career, according to ESPN Stats & Info, with the New York Mets benefiting. That means he's allowed 17 homers this year, also a career high.

Jose Reyes (two home runs), Jay Bruce, and Gavin Cecchini all took Kershaw deep.

Last year, Kershaw gave up only eight home runs (0.48 HR/9) in 149 innings pitched.

Although the big flies have plagued Kershaw all year, he managed to strike out 10 Mets batters on Monday - the third time this season he's recorded double-digit strikeouts.

The 29-year-old went on to pick up the win anyway, which brings his record to 10-2 on the year with 115 strikeouts and only 17 walks.
