Mariners' Mike Zunino: Sitting out Sunday

Zunino is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians, Bob Dutton of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Analysis:

Zunino, who went 0-for-5 with a strikeout in the first two games of the series, will rest for the second time in four contests, allowing Carlos Ruiz to pick up a start behind the plate. Though Zunino is an excellent receiver, he's failed to make an impact at the dish this season, slashing .172/.243/.234 over 70 plate appearances. Zunino could fall into more of a timeshare with Ruiz if he fails to get going in the next handful of games.
