Tigers' Victor Martinez: Crushes first homer of season

Martinez went 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Analysis:

Martinez hit his first bomb of the season off David Robertson to start a ninth-inning rally that would send the game to extra innings. He's gotten off to a slow start, as he's slashing just .229/.293/.289 despite being an everyday player. It's fair to question whether this is just a prolonged slump or the beginning of a decline in skills from the 38-year-old. Fantasy owners would be wise to try and wait a bit longer to see if this is merely a slump, as he posted a strong slash line of .289/.351/.476 in 2016.
