Tigers' Matt Boyd: Quality start wasted Friday

Boyd (2-1) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over seven innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Friday.

Analysis:

It was the left-hander's longest outing of the season so far. Boyd pounded the strike zone, throwing 70 of 97 pitches for strikes, but still walked multiple batters for the fifth time in five starts, and his 19:13 K:BB through 25.2 innings is far from impressive. His next start will come Wednesday at home against Cleveland.
