Padres' Jarred Cosart: Scheduled for bullpen session
Cosart (hamstring) is expected to throw a bullpen session this weekend in San Francisco, Dennis Lin of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Analysis:
The Padres will decide whether Cosart is ready to return from the DL after the session, so it will be a telltale weekend for the right-hander. If all goes well, he could retake his place in the rotation during next week's home stand, but could also find himself relegated to a bullpen role if Luis Perdomo is judged to be the stronger option.
