Diamondbacks' Zack Godley: Solid outing in '17 debut

Godley didn't factor into the decision versus the Padres on Wednesday, surrendering two earned runs on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.

Analysis:

Called up from Triple-A Reno earlier in the day due to Shelby Miller's forearm injury, Godley was impressive, notching 12 swinging strikes overall and firing 52 of 87 pitches for strikes. The right-hander did endure a couple of hiccups, with an RBI double surrendered to opposing starter Trevor Cahill in the fourth his more notable gaffe. Godley struggled over nine starts with Arizona last season but got off to a strong start at Reno this season, posting a 1-1 record, 2.55 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and .193 BAA over his first three trips to the mound.
