Twins' Joe Mauer: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Mauer is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Tigers, the Star Tribune's Phil Miller reports.

Analysis:

The Twins are giving most of their left-handed hitters the day off against southpaw Matt Boyd, so Mauer will take a seat for the second time this season. Chris Gimenez will start at first base and hit sixth, as both of the Twins catchers will start the game in the field.
