Twins' Joe Mauer: Left out of lineup against White Sox

Analysis:

After starting at first base and hitting cleanup for Minnesota's first three games of the season, Mauer will now get his first day off in Friday's series opener against Chicago. Miguel Sano will get a rare start at first base, which could be a trend going forward on Mauer's off days. Now that he is reaching his mid-30's, it is very possible that the longtime face of the Twins will start to see an elevated amount of off days to keep him fresh throughout the season.
