Cubs' Kyle Schwarber: Cranks game-winning homer Thursday

Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a walk and a game-winning three-run home run in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Cardinals.

Analysis:

The blast was his first of the season, and just the third of Schwarber's career off a left-handed pitcher as he crushed a Brett Cecil offering 404 feet in the seventh inning to put the Cubs in the lead for good. The 24-year-old came into the game hitting just .143 (8-for-56) in his career against same-side pitching, but if Schwarber makes significant progress in that aspect of his game he could be poised for a huge campaign.
