Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Fires 6.1 strong innings in win

Stroman (1-0) picked up the win in Thursday's contest with the Rays, allowing one earned run on six hits across 6.1 innings. He also struck out five and walked two.

Analysis:

The "Stro Show" was on full display Thursday night, as the right-hander cruised through his first six innings before conceding a run in the seventh and being chased from the ballgame. Stroman wasn't overly accurate (only 56 of his 89 pitches were strikes), but it was good to see that he induced nine groundouts to just one flyout, a line that should transfer well to the hitter-friendly Rogers Centre. Stroman will get an opportunity to strut his stuff again Wednesday when the Blue Jays host the Brewers.
