Blue Jays' Roberto Osuna: Scheduled for simulated game over weekend

Osuna (neck) will pitch a simulated game Saturday in Tampa Bay, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

It was reported earlier that Osuna would pitch in a minor-league game over the weekend, but the Blue Jays are instead opting to have the 23-year-old pitch a simulated game in order to make sure he gets a full workload in. He's currently on the 10-day DL, though Toronto doesn't expect the young closer to be sidelined too long. If a save situation should arise during his absence, Jason Grilli will likely be used as the interim closer.
