Watch: Encarnacion's 1st homer in his new threads

Jake Roth / USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Professional Baseball Team's newest first baseman, Edwin Encarnacion, finally hit his first home run with his new squad, a solo shot against the Arizona Diamondbacks, prompting him - and his parrot - to take a trip around the bases.

The 34-year-old Encarnacion signed a three-year deal worth $60 million this past offseason which also includes a $20-million team option for a fourth year. Surprisingly, it took him 44 at-bats with his new team to finally launch one into the stands. There will be more where that one came from, though, as he's coming off his fifth consecutive season with at least 30 home runs, mashing a grand total of 193 over that span.
