Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Surrenders three earned in final start

Wainwright gave up three earned runs on five hits over five innings in Tuesday's 3-3 Grapefruit League tie with the Mets.

Analysis:

The right-hander wrapped up spring with a solid outing save for one glaring mistake -- the three-run home run he gave up to Lucas Duda in the bottom of the fourth inning. Otherwise, Wainwright allowed just five baserunners over his five frames and gained a bit of redemption against a team that had tagged him for 10 earned runs in 1.2 innings back on March 17. The Cardinals' projected No. 2 starter, Wainwright will try to build on the 13 wins he notched last season while lowering the career-high 4.62 ERA that was also part of his 2016 campaign.
