Reds' Cody Reed: Makes Opening Day roster
Reed has been added to the Reds' Opening Day roster, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Analysis:
Reed was shelled for 10 earned runs over 3.2 innings Monday against the Giants, but the disastrous outing wasn't enough to keep him off of the rebuilding Reds' 25-man roster. The 23-year-old disappointed in his 10 starts for the Reds in 2016 (7.36 ERA), but will have a chance to redeem himself this season. He'll likely begin the year as a long-relief bullpen arm, though he could pitch his way into the rotation eventually.
