Watch: Alex Gordon blasts 481-foot homer out of stadium
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports
With Opening Day less than a week away, Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon showed he's certainly ready to play.
The Royals' leadoff batter took Chris Volstad deep in the bottom of the first Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox, launching a monster 481-foot homer out of the stadium down the right-field line.
Gordon only had 32 at-bats in the leadoff position last season, but if Tuesday's shot is any indication, the Royals should probably keep him there.
