Reds' Stuart Turner: Set to break camp with big club

Turner looks like a lock to break camp with the Reds after Rob Brantly was reassigned to minor-league camp Tuesday, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis:

This was expected, but Brantly's reassignment all but cements Turner's spot on the Opening Day roster. A Rule 5 pick, he has gone 13-for-32 with five extra-base hits and more walks (6) than strikeouts (5) in 21 Cactus League games to date. Turner is slated to serve as the backup to Tucker Barnhart with Devin Mesoraco (hip) still not up to speed. The 25-year-old may be offered back to the Twins once Mesoraco is ready to go.
