Rangers' Joey Gallo: Back in action
Gallo (hamstring) is back in the lineup Tuesday as the DH, the Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant reports.
Analysis:
The Rangers have said they would prefer Gallo to be playing every day than to be sitting on the major-league bench, so it sounds like he will be optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in the coming days, but nothing is official. Gallo was humbled last season, as he struggled to make contact at an acceptable clip at Triple-A or in the majors. He is still young enough and talented enough, however, to bounce back and put his 80-grade power to work, perhaps with a mediocre batting average, if an opportunity for consistent at-bats opens up.
