Mets' T.J. Rivera: Homers Monday
Rivera went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Monday's split-squad game against the Marlins.
Analysis:
The 28-year-old is now hitting .303 with a .606 SLG in 33 at-bats this spring as he looks to win a bench spot with the Mets. The fact that Wilmer Flores can play the same positions and also hits right-handed does make Rivera somewhat superfluous on the 25-man roster, however, so even if he does break camp on the big-league roster, his playing time will be very limited.
