White Sox's Matt Purke: Reassigned to minor league camp

Purke was reassigned to minor-league camp Tuesday.

Analysis:

He failed to make the big-league club out of camp, and will open the year providing organizational bullpen depth at Triple-A Charlotte. Purke has really struggled with his control against upper-level hitting, and does not figure to earn a high-leverage role anytime soon.
