Athletics' Khris Davis: Could return Wednesday

Manager Bob Melvin said Davis (quad) could return to Cactus League action by Wednesday at the earliest, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

The A's are maintaining that the injury isn't anything serious, and Davis will continue to take at-bats in minor-league games while limiting his running. If all goes well on the minor-league side, he is targeting a Wednesday return against the Cubs. It doesn't appear the injury will affect his Opening Day status at this point, but if he is held out past Wednesday, it may be something to worry about.
