Mariners' Shae Simmons: Shut down from catch
Simmons (forearm) has been shut down from playing catch and will be reexamined by Dr. Ed Khalfayan on Monday, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Simmons' forearm injury continues to linger, so the Mariners have decided to slow his return and send him for another checkup. The Mariners remain optimistic about a return for the 26-year-old, but it's unclear when that will be. It now looks even more likely that he'll open the season on the 10-day DL.
