Indians GM's young son tells broadcast his dad is trying to extend Lindor

Cleveland Indians general manager Mike Chernoff might have to watch himself when talking business in front of his young son Brody in the future.

Brody jumped on the Indians broadcast for a spring training game Saturday and dished on some of the behind-the-scenes deals his dad has been working on.

"Has dad had any phone calls lately, who is he trying to get? He won't tell us, can you?" Indians broadcaster Tom Hamilton asked.

"He's trying to get (Francisco) Lindor to play for seven more years," Brody said.

"OK," Hamilton said trying to contain his laughter. "We better not talk anymore Brody. There you have it folks, we've finally had a scoop on the Indians' radio network."

Brody also spoke on the Edwin Encarnacion signing, but refused to take any credit for bringing the three-time All-Star to Cleveland.

"I heard it was your idea that the Indians go out and sign Edwin Encarnacion, is that correct?" Hamilton asked.

"No," Brody said. "It was dad's idea."
