Red Sox's Pablo Sandoval: Homers from right side Saturday
Sandoval homered while batting right-handed Saturday.
Analysis:
Sandoval identifies as a switch hitter, but he had just two hits in 43 at-bats against left-handers and abandoned the practice of batting from the right side in 2015. He plans to go back to switch hitting this season, but his early spring returns hadn't been very good until Saturday's homer. Hitting from the left side of the plate against right-handed pitchers has presented little challenge for Sandoval this spring. He's batting .400 (16-for-40) with a .750 slugging percentage, three home runs, five doubles and 15 RBI batting lefty, but he's just 2-for-11 as a right-hander.
