Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Successful return Friday
Gonzalez (elbow) returned to the lineup Friday, going 1-for-2 with a walk and a pair of runs in a spring win over the Diamondbacks.
Analysis:
This was the veteran first baseman's first game action since having his elbow inflammation flare up last Sunday. The slugger's stock already took a slight hit when the Dodgers announced that they would be giving him more scheduled rest days this season, but this lingering elbow injury is a slight cause for concern as well. That being said, Gonzalez has been the model of health and consistency over his 12-year professional career, so it is tough not to give him the benefit of the doubt when it comes to durability.
