Holy moly.
The Los Angeles Angels combined for the first Cactus League no-hitter in more than two decades Friday night at Tempe Diablo Stadium, where veteran right-hander Bud Norris and seven relievers blanked the Seattle Mariners en route to a 4-0 win and the second combined no-no this spring.
Pitcher | IP | H | R | BB | K |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bud Norris | 2.0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
José Álvarez | 1.0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 |
Cam Bedrosian | 1.0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 2 |
Andrew Bailey | 1.0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 3 |
Austin Adams | 1.0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2 |

Justin Anderson | 1.0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 |

The previous Cactus League no-no, incidentally, also belongs to the Angels, who held the San Francisco Giants hitless in a 15-0 drubbing in Scottsdale back on March 16, 1996.
Last week, the New York Yankees recorded the first Grapefruit League no-hitter since 2015, with Masahiro Tanaka, Chasen Shreve, and Jordan Montgomery combining to shut out the Detroit Tigers in a 3-0 victory at Joker Merchant Stadium.
