Diamondbacks' Archie Bradley: Will begin year as reliever

Bradley will begin the 2017 season as a reliever, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Bradley had said he would be comfortable with a bullpen role and the D-Backs appear to be content with the move. The 24-year-old has struggled mightily this spring, allowing 13 earned runs on 23 hits over 14.2 innings. In addition, Bradley is coming off a rough 2016 campaign in which he compiled a 5.02 ERA and a 1.56 WHIP over 26 starts. He'll have a chance to prove his worth as a reliever, but could be in line to return to the rotation later this season.
