Watch: Leyland dedicates WBC title to U.S. armed forces

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Jim Leyland, a veteran manager of 22 years with one World Series on his resume, added another impressive piece of hardware on Wednesday after the United States won its first ever World Baseball Classic title.

Immediately following Team USA's impressive 8-0 victory over Puerto Rico, Leyland got emotional in his postgame interview, dedicating the long-awaited win to the individuals that serve the country.

"They were great, they were, you know, I don't know what to say," Leyland said. "I got a chance to manage for our country, coaches got a chance to coach for our country, the players got a chance to play for our country but you know what, this is for the people that serve our country."
