Brewers' Michael Reed: Optioned by Brewers

Reed was optioned to minor-league camp Wednesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

Reed had brief big-league stints with the Brewers the last two seasons, but the team has greatly improved its outfield depth at the upper levels of late, so not only will Reed's season not begin with the big club, it will not even start with Triple-A Colorado Springs. Reed will head to Double-A Biloxi, where he at least figures to play every day.
