Dodgers' Brett Eibner: Optioned to minors

Eibner was optioned to minor league camp Tuesday.

Analysis:

Eibner was traded to the Dodgers in January and has spent spring camp battling for a major league backup outfield role. With a plethora of outfield options available to them, the team decided it was best for the 28-year-old to begin the season in the minor leagues. He'll have a chance to return to the big league club if an injury arises to one of the regular outfielders.
