Padres' Ryan Schimpf: Back in lineup

Schimpf (oblique) is back in the lineup against the Giants on Tuesday.

Analysis:

He will hit second and man third base in Cactus League play, with Erick Aybar starting at shortstop and Luis Sardinas starting at second base. The plan is for Schimpf to compete for starts at third base this season with Cory Spangenberg, and to a lesser degree, Yangervis Solarte, who is expected to see the bulk of his playing time at the keystone.
